Let’s be real. There are A LOT of diets out there. Keto, paleo, vegan, gluten-free, clean eating, and so many more. It’s really common when someone is trying to change their diet to start restricting the types of food you are “allowed” to eat. While it can be a good thing to shift away from junk foods it’s also important to be in a good head space when it comes to your food.
I like to use the 80/20 approach to diet. 80% of the time I’m eating healthy foods and 20% of the time I allow myself to have fun with food without feeling any guilt. This is a good balance between that provide nutrition to your body and foods that nourish your soul. I eat vegetables like they are going out of style but I am also a sucker for a good donut and there is usually an ice cream stash hanging out in the freezer. Don’t get so hung up on your diet style that you can’t go with the flow and enjoy the moment on occasion.
